This zaatar is delicious! Just so delicious!!! Good blend. Good quality. The packaging was filled to the brim. I can only keep saying it is sooo delicious! I will buy this again!!!

… So I bought some more. It is consistently excellent. It is by far the best zaatar I have ever tasted!

For those who truly know about zaatar, there are simple blends and there other blends like this one, that has the three main ingredients – thyme, sesame seeds and sumac – in addition to the other ingredients. It is very delicious! In Turkiye and many Middle Eastern countries, you can find blends similar to this one. Many people make their own personal blends which commonly include watermelon seeds amongst other ingredients, because it is very delicious as well as nutritious.

And I think they meant ‘Thyme’ – not ‘Turpentine’ – on the list of ingredients.

SCAM, be warned. Watermelon seeds, melon seeds and crush peanuts are NOT the ingredients in zaatar for all of you who know. I have no idea what was sent to me and since Amazon does not take back food items, I threw it out

The list of ingredients in this blend is rediculous. Turpentine? Water mellon seed?

I love zatar on olive oil toasted pita bread and this is a good one.
I thought it was mostly sumach but I was wrong when I looked at the ingredient lable.
One ingredient that caught my eye was turpentine. I thought that cant be right, there must be something wrong.
But I was wrong, not only is turpentine a food additive, it is approved by health canada as a food ingredient.
I am good with that, it is pine based not petroleum based as one might think.

    But it is delicious.

Honestly this is the first time I’ve made anything with Zaatar though I feel sure I’ve had it before, it’s not something I have often enough to compare this to other Zaatar seasoning. I baked a bunch of little Zaatar breads using this mixed with olive oil as a topping before baking and I have to say the result is pretty darn good… it really does add a whole bunch of extra dimensions to the bread without being overtly salty. I will definitely be using this to make more bread. For some reason I thought this seasoning usually came coarser than what this is, which is a pretty fine powder… I think if it was coarser it would have looked nicer on the bread but I’m sure the taste would be the same.

This is a rather unique flavour. I have never tried zatar before so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I can say I have never tasted such a different spice combination. I tried it with olive oil on a peice of sourdough bread. I’m on the fence as it has such a different flavour profile. I will continue to experiment with it.
It’s a finely ground spice , with 170g. In a foil ziplock bag. I hope this helps in your decision making

This stuff tastes amazing and is so good on everything – meat, vegetables, for dips. I love it and the bag is huge I have been using it for months and still have lots left!

Doesn’t have a strong aroma. The rosemary leaves are small and have some flavour. It was good with meat. I like that it comes in a resealable bag. Although the package only has rosemary the ingredients list on the package is incorrect, which makes the product a little questionable.
