Description

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I was excited to try this aromatic blend of 11 spices for making Moroccan inspired dishes without having to buy, measure, and mix each spice myself. I also appreciate that it contains no preservatives, salt, sugar, or other fillers, even if that means it may clump a little. The listing mentions rose petals, but they aren’t listed on the package. Personally, I don’t mind because I’m not a fan of rose flavored foods. I was happy to see flavorful cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg, balanced with plenty of coriander and cumin. The ginger adds a gentle sharpness, while the black pepper, cayenne, and turmeric add heat and colour. I was also concerned that the cinnamon might overpower the blend, but it’s well balanced. The aroma is complex, slightly sweet, earthy, and pleasantly warm.I’ve used this blend in chicken tagine with prunes and potatoes, as well as meatballs with olives and raisins in tomato sauce. Both dishes turned out flavouful, and the aroma while cooking was amazing. If you enjoy Moroccan inspired cooking, this is an excellent spice blend to keep on hand, especially for stews and tagines.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I picked up this seasoning to add more variety to my cooking, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spice blends to keep on hand. The aroma when opening the pouch is warm and fragrant, with a nice balance of earthy, sweet, and floral notes instead of just a strong heat like some spice mixes.I like that the ingredients are clearly listed and it tastes like a thoughtfully made blend rather than a generic seasoning. The combination of cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, and the subtle floral notes from the rose petals gives dishes a unique depth. A small amount added to chicken, roasted vegetables, or rice can completely change the flavor profile. It is also easy to use because it works well for both traditional recipes and quick weeknight meals. I have enjoyed adding it to simple dishes when I want something more interesting without needing a long list of separate spices. This is the kind of seasoning that makes you want to experiment more in the kitchen and try new recipes instead of making the same meals over and over.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This is a 113 or 4 oz bag of gourmet Moroccan blend spices. There is no added sugar, salt or preservatives in this spice mix. The ingredients include: Cumin, Coriander, Ginger, Turmeric, Ceylon Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Green Cardamom, Allspice, Cayenne Pepper, Cloves, Nutmeg, Dried Rose Petals. The spice is incredibly aromatic and doesn’t really have much of a sweet taste to it. It’s great for adding to couscous, for marinating meat and adding to roasted vegetables.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This is the first Ras El Hanout spice mix I’ve ever tried with cooking so I can’t compare it to others. It does combine a lot of my absolute favorite and most-used spices (like cumin, coriander and turmeric). I used it to spice up some roasted potatoes and carrots and the flavours were great! I would also like to use it in a chicken dish but have yet to.I like that the spices come in a re-sealable pouch with the ingredients listed. The spices smell very potent and flavourful not stale.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] The ras el hanout spice blend comes in a four ounce resealable bag so you can easily close up and preserve when done. Used as a spice rub on various proteins, the ras el hanout contains a mixture of spices like coriander, cumin, cinnamon, etc. The blend creates a taste that does North African cuisine justice as it does not contain any added ingredients outside the label. With that, you may need to add some salt to taste but up to your preference. When cooking, the spices ignite a nicee, firey aroma which translates well into the meat. The amount in the bag is not much but luckily the blend is quite potent so you don’t need a lot to unlock flavour. It can also be used as a flavor enhancer for stews like tagine or couscous. Overall, the ras el hanout spice blend doesn’t have a lot in volume but when cooked right, does bring the unique Moroccan flavours out of your food quite prominently.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I’m no stranger to Ras el Hanout, as I enjoy Mediterranean foods of all kinds, and Moroccan cuisine is definitely one of my favourites.I usually buy my Ras el Hanout from a Middle Eastern grocery store where they blend it themselves and sell it in jars, so I alreayd have a good idea of what to expect. This spice blend arrived in a well-sealed, resealable, airtight pouch that really helps keep it fresh. As soon as I opened it, I was greeted with a lovely arouma that was warm, slightly sweet, and just a little smoky.Naturally, I compared it side by side with the blend I already had. After sniffing both, the Edi Gourmet version won, hands down. The aroma had more depth, was more pronounced and had a few different flavour notes that distinctly came through. That could partly be because this package is fresher, but even so, I don’t remember my usual blend ever having quite this much complexity.Ras el Hanout is really versatile. It’s delicious on poultry, lamb, rice, roasted vegetalbes, and even sprinkled over hummus. I’ve also used it in meatballs with great results. This spice blend is well worth keeping in the pantry.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I ordered the Edi Gourmet Spice mix Ras el Hanout to try the mix as the listed spices are the ones I often use in my kitchen. What attracted me to the spice mix was that it didn’t have added sugar or salt.I often find premade spice mixes are heavily salted and really do not have the taste of any spices or herbs.I really liked the smell of the spice mix and I couldn’t wait to try the mix.I decided to cut up and oven roast two russet potatoes and a few left over gnocchi.I always use a lot of spices in my meals so I decided to use two teaspoons mixed into olive oil.The potatoes and gnocchi looked great when they were finished roasting and had a slight scent from the spice mix.My spouse and I both found the flavors a bit to subtle for our taste. We do eat a lot heavily spices food. The Edi Gourmet Spice mix Ras el Hanout has a nice variety of spice flavors. It was a bit to tame for my families liking but for anyone who wants a bit of flavor without salt and sugar it is a great option.

a piece of peace –
[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I have been experimenting more with spices lately, especially after my Lebanese friends introduced me to lamb rice cooked with basmati. For years I stayed away from rice because I was trying to cut down on sugar, but my doctor reminded me that moderation is the key. That advice helped me rediscover basmati rice. It has a naturally lower glycemic index, the grains stay separate, and it works beautifully for mixed dishes. Since then, I have been exploring other combinations with vegetables, beef, and chicken too, and this Ras el Hanout from EDI Gourmet Spice fits perfectly into that journey. This blend is warm, aromatic, and very flavorful. The label lists cumin, coriander, ginger, turmeric, Ceylon cinnamon, black pepper, green cardamom, allspice, cayenne pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and dried rose petals. I appreciate that every ingredient is clearly listed, with no fillers, no salt, and nothing hidden. The mix has an earthy base from the cumin and coriander, gentle sweetness from cinnamon and nutmeg, a floral top note from the rose petals, and just a whisper of cayenne to wake it up without adding heat. It is a balanced blend that works across many dishes, not just tagines or couscous.I first tried it with basmati rice, and it lifted the aroma and flavor right away. A small amount goes a long way, so you do not need much to make a meal taste special. I also used it with roasted vegetables and chicken, and it added warmth and depth without overpowering the dish. This is the kind of spice that gives direction to a recipe, not just seasoning. The seasoning comes in a resealable pouch, and the expiry date is printed as February 13, 2028. Whenever I buy food items in resealable packaging, I recommend transferring them into a small Tupperware style container to make access easier and help preserve freshness. The weight is 113 grams, and given how potent the blend is, this pouch will last a while. In my opinion, this Ras el Hanout is a versatile, high quality spice mix that works beautifully for rice dishes, roasted vegetables, lamb, beef, chicken, and everyday cooking. Five stars without doubt.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] My husband and I love our herbs and spices and literally have a whole pantry wall designated to herbs and spice. I usually buy them for quart sized glass mason jars and they keep amazingly well. I have all of these spices on hand but really wanted to try the ready to go spice mix. I haven’t done a lot of moroccan cooking but I do plan to and I like that this seasoning blend can be added to just plain vegetables to add some wonderful aroma and flavor. It is nicely packages, has a zip lock seal to lock in freshness which is great but I will be keeping it like all my other spices in a glass jar. I love cumin, turmeric, cardamon, coriander, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and all spice just to name a few. Smell is fantastic and I can’t wait to use it. I got it for my husband who does most of the cooking now so I will wait and let him use it first.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Adding authentic depth to Mediterranean and Moroccan dishes can elevate home-cooked meals instantly, and this spice blend delivers a wonderfully aromatic profile right out of the bag. The combination of sweet spices and floral notes creates a complex, well-balanced flavor that enhances tagines, couscous dishes, and roasted vegetables effortlessly. The resealable pouch keeps the contents fresh between uses, ensuring vibrant flavor every time you cook. A fantastic addition to any spice cabinet!

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] The ‘warm’ part of this spice blend is sort of a given as a quick sniff reveals that the bulk of the contents are cumin, closely followed by coriander.Closest comparison I can give is that it has a strong similarity to a homemade garam masala, although here it’s sort of an all-in situation with the inclusion of tumeric, ginger, allspice, and even some cayenne over top of what you’d expect as the base.I’m going to asssume the title is referencing something else as it calls out rose petals and there is absolutely none of that here. I think it would probably get lost in the mix anyway.Gives a huge depth of flavour for couscous or bulgur. I’m going to have to try out the sweet potato wedges pictured in one of the product photos, too, that seems like it would be a tasty use too (even if the image is generated).

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I love experimenting with spices from around the world and will admit I’d not heard of “Ras el Hanout ”. Doing some research I discovered it is considered Morocco’s most legendary spice blend. Translated from Arabic as « head of the shop.” In other words – the very best the spice maker has to offer. Looking at EDI’s website, this particular spice is actually sourced and blended in Türkiye. Ingredients include Cumin, Coriander, Ginger, Turmeric, Ceylon Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Green Cardamom, Allspice, Cayenne Pepper, Cloves, Nutmeg, Dried Rose PetalsI’ve been researching recipes and this blend is super versatile for meats, vegetables and grains (we love couscous).I’m keeping it simple for my first attempt – “Moroccan M’toum: Spiced Chicken Kefta Meatballs.” A pretty simple recipe – meatballs elevated to “exotic” by the spices. How does it taste? It’s now overpowering (in the right quantities). As you might guess from the ingredient list, it’s warm, earthy and a little bit sweet. It’s hard to describe – a cross between a curry and gingerbread? That’s not a flattering description, but trust me it’s tasty and quite distinct. So, if you are a fan of this kind of spice blend I can’t tell you if this is a good representation of it given that I have nothing to compare it against. I would say that for anyone who likes spices, experimenting, world flavours, this is definitely with trying.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I used this spice blend for a stew and it turned out very good. It adds a warm, flavorful depth to the dish without being overwhelmingly spicy. The cumin smell is quite strong when you first open the package, but it blends nicely into the finished dish. It contains a lot of spices which I don’t always use so for this to be a mix on its own is very handy when you want a spicy and warm blend. The spices smell fresh and are very fragrant, and smell even better when you bloom them just briefly in some butter or oil. This is a tasty and versatile spice blend that worked really well in a stew.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This spice blend is really good and gave us a chance to try something a little different. It has a nice combination of warm, savory, and slightly spicy flavors that worked well in our cooking. We’ve enjoyed using it with different dishes and found it added a lot of flavor without being overpowering.Overall, I’m happy with it and would definitely use this spice blend again, and will also take the opportunity to try others from this company.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Edi Gourmet Spice – Ras El Hanout
Plant crazy –
[Amazon Vine review, product received free] When I ordered this Ras el Hanout spice mix from Edi Gourmet, I knew relatively nothing about it other than the name sounded familiar. But my mind was positively ticking off the list of spices involved and really intriguing me. While waiting for this spice blend to arrive I did some research to uncover uses and recipes for this. I also uncover the translation of the name “head of the shop”, meaning the best there is. This made my decision feel that much more positive and the wait longer.Coming in a resealable bag, this spice blend smelled so wonderful. I found myself attempting to smell some of the ingredients listed, like cinnamon, ginger and cumin, but found its complexity made this difficult. It was a very finely ground blend and while I had decided while waiting I wanted to initially try these spices in a stand alone rather than in a complex dish. So I chose grilled skinless chicken breasts. Taking my cue for. The directions, I prepared the spices by blending them with olive oil and brushed this on about 30 minutes prior to placing them on the BBQ. With 2 simple side veggies, this let the spiced chicken stand out.Other than wishing I had been a bit more liberal with the salt shaker, these chicken breasts were so good! The spices were definitely there and the flavours imparted were complimentary to the mild chicken. Expecting a bit of heat from the included black pepper, this didn’t happen and I was almost disappointed. But it was too yummy to stay disappointed for long. My partner was also really enjoying this and we found ourselves making plans on what to use it on/in next. While the resealable bag resealed nicely, I chose to place this in a glass container with a sealable lid. We are both looking forward to experimenting again with this blend.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Pro tip/headsup: always check with your doctor which suits you personally and order it or using itI purchased this packaged spice mixture to try making some authentic Moroccan couscous and slow-cooked tagine recipes at home. I needed a balanced, ready-to-use seasoning blend that would bring those deep, traditional North African flavors to my kitchen without buying dozens of individual jars. The seasoning performs okay overall, but the final flavor profile might not appeal to everyone. When cooked down into a chicken broth, it fills the entire room with a very rich and aromatic fragrance. However, the balance feels a bit off because the heavy floral notes from the rose petals completely overpower the warm cardamom and cinnamon tones, making the dish taste a bit too perfumed for a casual dinner.Pros:-> Fresh herbal fragrance: Gives off a highly potent and sweet aroma the second you open the pouch.-> Fine powder texture: Dissolves smoothly into boiling stews and rice dishes without clumping up.Cons:-> Excess floral balance: The heavy rose petal ingredient dominates the overall flavor profile too much. This is a decent option if you prefer highly fragrant, flower-forward seasonings, but you might want to look elsewhere for a more savory kick. Leave a message down here if you want to know how it mixes into standard olive oil marinades.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] We’ve been using this Ras el Hanout and it has quickly become one of the more interesting spice blends in our kitchen. It has a warm, aromatic profile with the cinnamon and cardamom coming through nicely, while the rose petals add a subtle floral note rather than making it taste perfumed. We’ve used it in couscous and Moroccan-style dishes, but it’s also been great for seasoning roasted vegetables and meat when we want something different from our usual spice combinations. A little goes a surprisingly long way, so I prefer starting with a smaller amount and adjusting as the dish cooks. I also appreciate that the ingredient list isn’t padded out with unnecessary fillers. It gives food a complex flavor without needing to measure out several individual spices every time, and after using it regularly, it has earned a permanent spot in our spice cabinet.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I got this spice mix to use mainly as a rub for meat when making Moroccan style dishes. When used by itself it adds a lot of flavour, but does need a little extra salt to complete the seasoning. I like the fact that it does not come pre-salted, as it allows you to control the level of saltiness – you can always add more, but it’s not so easy to remove it.The first time I used it on beef and chicken, as well as in a tomato based sauce. Both the meat and the sauce turned out really well. The spice adds a deep rich red colour, with prominent cumin and coriander flavours. There is a little spice from the cayenne pepper and black pepper, but I did not find it overly spicy. You can taste hints of allspice, cloves and nutmeg, but these are not overpowering. The other spices of ginger, cinnamon and cardamom are more subtle but round out the flavour nicely.I like that the spice came in a resealable bag, so I don’t necessarily need to transfer it to a spice jar after opening it. The bag is not large, but with this spice mix, a little seems to go a long way. It produces a very full flavour profile with a pleasing lingering taste and works great as a rub, in a sauce or as intended in couscous. I think it would go nicely on roasted potatoes too.I think this spice mix is a great addition to my spice drawer and will give me more flexibility in cooking, pushing me out of my comfort zone and allowing me to be more creative with my dishes. Pretty pleased with it.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Ras El Hanout (lit. Head of the Shop) is a vibrant and flavourful North African spice blend that is strongly equated with Morocco. Using this product demonstrates its “flavour factor” quite well. I used it as the base of a rub to prepare some roasted chicken thighs. The “warm spice” flavour of the blend was incredibly good! This is “warm spice” blend with many ingredients involved like cinnamon, allspice and cumin. There is no spicy heat as you’d find in other blends that may contain ground cayenne, habanero and chili peppers. Not that you couldn’t add heat to it, but I feel it unnecessary. The package (4oz – 133g) holds a lot, too. The way I measure it, that translated to about 18 Tablespoons. Again, the way I use this, that means it was good for about 10 to 12 pounds of meat, or even more if you’re seasoning vegetables. So, you get an ample supply and a good chance to experience its versatility. The rest of my review is more of a recipe. My rub combined 2 tbsp with 1 1/2 tsp each of salt, garlic powder and ground dried lemon zest. This was enough for 2 pounds of meat. Some make it into a paste using olive oil, but I don’t care for the texture.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This spice blend is great to have on hand. I think it adds quite the punch to a variety of different recipes. I also find that it is quite versatile. You could add this mix to soups, rice dishes, stews, chicken recipes… The list goes on and on. If you like the flavor profile of this mix, you could add it to many different things. The packaging that it comes in is a good size, and it’s easy to store. It’s a resealable package, so you don’t have to worry about transferring it into a different container. I’ve definitely seen spices come in big or bags, but a little does go a long way so it’ll still last you a good amount of time even though it’s not the biggest bag.Overall, I’m happy with this spice mix. It seems to be good quality, it works in many different dishes, and I like the flavors that this adds. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who likes to mix things up in the kitchen, or if you are already familiar with this type of spice mix.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This Ras el Hanout is an easy way to add Moroccan flavor to tagines, couscous, and other dishes. The spice mix has a warm, layered aroma right out of the package, with a nice combination of sweet, earthy, and slightly floral notes.I’ve found it works well with a variety of foods, including chicken, lamb, vegetables, and even roasted chickpeas. The flavor is nicely balanced rather than overly intense, so it adds depth and fragrance without overpowering the other ingredients.Overall, this is a fragrant and versatile spice blend that works well for Moroccan-style cooking.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This ras el hanout blend truly captures the essence of Moroccan cooking. I used it for a lamb tagine with apricots and it created an incredibly deep, complex flavor profile. The initial aroma when blooming it in oil was fantastic, warm and earthy, with the subtle sweetness of Ceylon cinnamon and a hint of floral rose coming through. It’s potent, so a little goes a long way, and I appreciate that all the spices are clearly listed, with no hidden fillers or salt. It made the tagine taste like it came from a specialty restaurant.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Edi Gourmet Spice Ras el Hanout arrived at a fortuitous time – I have recently also picked up a jar of preserved lemon and so together with some other pantry items and veggies, I found myself with all of the ingredients to make a tagine.Opening the package I was struck by the amazing aroma of all of the warm spices in the blend – certainly « Top of the Shelf » as the name translates to.I used a generous tablespoon of the blend and bloomed it in oil before adding onions and garlic. I won’t belabour this review with the recipe I used, but it ended up in a tagine full of veggies, chickpeas, some dried fruit, olives and the preserved lemon… and thanks to this Ras el Hanout, it was delicious.I can’t wait to try other recipes and even simple things like tossing it on roasted vegetables for an added kick.I appreciate the generous amount in the sachet, which importantly is resealable and has a long best before date.Delicious and an easy recommendation.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This blend of gourmet spice has a nice bold flavor to it. It’s a nice mix of ingredients that work well together and deliver a full taste that enhances any dish that it’s added to. I like using this to spice my chicken and meats that get air fried for my family meals. I like that the spice mix contains a hint of cinnamon which isn’t something I typically add to food when cooking (I use cinnamon in treats or baked goods), so it’s nice to have that flavor profile in savory food.

Not terrible but the one I used to use had a different medley of spices that my kids like better. This has chili so i have to be careful when cooking for them.
