Description

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Are your potatoes looking at you with disappointment? Has your spice rack become a collection of bottles that all somehow taste… beige? Well, introducing Edi Gourmet Shawarma Seasoning! One shake, and suddenly your dinner starts acting like it graduated from culinary school without you having to do any extra work. This seasoning is fantastic. The moment you open the container you’re hit with an amazing aroma that immediately makes you hungry. I tried it on air-fried potatoes for dinner last night, and they turned out absolutely delicious. The blend has tons of flavor without being overly spicy, and every bite had that warm, savory shawarma taste that keeps you reaching for « just one more potato »… about twelve times in a row. If it’s this good on potatoes, I can’t wait to try it on chicken and other dishes. This one has definitely earned a permanent spot in my spice cupboard.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I’ve been really enjoying this shawarma seasoning. It has a fresh, flavorful taste with plenty of garlic and just the right amount of warmth without being spicy. It’s perfect for homemade chicken shawarmas, but I’ve also used it on roasted vegetables, potatoes, and grilled meat with great results. The seasoning blends evenly and makes it easy to add lots of flavor without needing a long list of spices. The resealable package keeps it fresh, and a little goes a long way. If you enjoy Middle Eastern flavors, this is a versatile seasoning that’s worth keeping in the pantry.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] A high-quality seasoning spice specially designed for Middle Eastern barbecue. The product focuses on the rich flavor dominated by garlic, and perfectly integrates Sumark (lacquer mushroom powder), smoked red pepper powder and cumin, presenting a mild (low spiciness) and rich classic Mediterranean aroma. The garlic flavor is remarkable, accompanied by the unique natural fruit sour lemon fragrance of Sumac, the slightly smoked sweet fragrance of Smoked Paprika, and the flavor of Cumin.Low heat, which meets the taste needs of the vast majority of people, not only retains the flavor of spices but also does not be too spicy. It is very suitable for marinating chicken, beef and mutton, and is an excellent choice for making authentic Middle Eastern barbecue burritos (Shawarma Wraps).I will add an appropriate amount of vegetable oil, fresh lemon juice, and this seasoning powder to the meat (such as chicken leg or beef strips). After stirring well, put the meat in the refrigerator and marinate it for at least 1-2 hours, so that the spices can fully penetrate the taste. Then use the oven to bake, stir-fry or grill, and bake until the surface is slightly charred and the meat is juicy. Chop the grilled meat, wrap it in Pita, serve with lettuce, tomatoes and pickled cucumbers, and then smear it with garlic sauce (Toum) or sesame paste (Tahini) and enjoy it.It only retains the warmth and aroma of spices, and there is almost no spicy stimulation. It is very friendly to the elderly, children or people who are not resistant to spicy food.It can also be used for baked potatoes, pickled tofu, mixed with salad or baked vegetables, which are very amazing.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] We’ve been using this mixed into rice and eggs (scrambled and deviled) so far since it’s far too hot to cook or eat meats right now. The recloseable pouch has a bit of space when you open it so powder doesn’t go flying out everywhere from it being overstuffed. Everyone has a different opinion about which flavours stand out from the ingredients, with coriander, cinnamon and cardamom noted far ahead of the other spices. We like the low level heat that comes a second or so after you eat this, more like a warmth that comes over you from the pepper and paprika but not enough to break a sweat or need to reach for a beverage to douse the fire. That’s our preferred kind of spice since some in the household have GI issues and reflux. The upside of the pouch is that it stands up to be more visible on a rack or counter with other spice jars etc; the downside is that settling has likely occurred in transit so the heavier denser spices and seasonings are separated to some degree from the lighter ones. You’d have to pour out the entire pouch into a bowl to fix them up again at least until the pouch is less full then shaking it up might work as a cleaner and faster solution. It’s produced for a Canadian company out of Nova Scotia but originates from Turkey. Expiration date is 2 years from the date of production so if you cook a lot of meat, shawarmas or other kinds, or just like to make DIY fusion dishes at home for the family the pouch will be empty in no time. Current price of 12.99 for 113 grams (4 oz) seems on par with similar seasoning/spice mixes especially for one that is vegan, lactose free and gluten free.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Flavour range is very complete, creating a very pleasant and authentic shawarma flavour.Spiciness is very muted, which for me is perfect, and I can always add my own kick if needed.Package seals very well, and has more than enough mix for quite a few meals, as you don’t need that much, it goes a long way.The convenience of having a high quality and complete mix on hand can’t be overstated, it really does save time compared to making your own mix.Can be used on so many things to give a unique and enjoyable flavour, and value-wise, is a no-brainer.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I’ve used this seasoning on both grilled chicken thighs and breasts, and it’s been a huge hit with the family. While the product description says it has a garlic forward flavor, it’s by no means overpowering, and we find the blend of spices to be well balanced. It mixes in well with yogurt marinades too. The foil bag prevents light passing through, and the top has a zip lock closure to keep the spices fresh.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] It’s always nice to try new spice blends, and I’ve been using this one to lift our rice dishes. As an (expected) vegan spice mix, I do like the use of simple ingredients without nasty extras. The package is re-sealable, but I would suggest transferring to an airtight container as the package seems to not seal 100% after opening. One thing that I really appreciate is the lack of salt! A serving is only 2.4mg of salt, so this is perfect for anyone on a low-salt diet, or who prefer simply to not have salty food. This blend has a wonderful aroma, which carries through the cooked meal. The flavour is also quite enjoyable, and I can see this working well with other dishes, too.I will note, this is only 113g of spice, so the AI/fake images on the listing make the package look much larger than it is. Such a shame that real photos couldn’t be used.At the time of this review, this spice blend is listed at $12.99.Minus one point for the AI/fake images.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I am not really into shawarma cooking, but lately I have been experimenting with basmati rice and different spices. For years I stayed away from rice because I was trying to cut down on sugar, but my doctor reminded me that moderation is the key. After my Lebanese friends introduced me to lamb rice cooked with basmati, I rediscovered how good basmati rice can be. It has a naturally lower glycemic index compared to regular white rice, it is aromatic, it digests smoothly, and the grains stay separate. This makes it excellent for fried rice or mixed dishes because it does not clump or turn mushy.I used this shawarma seasoning from EDI Gourmet Spice for my lamb rice version and I am afraid I ended up doing better than the recipe of my friends haha. The blend is flavorful, balanced, and surprisingly versatile. The label lists garlic, sumac, smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, and a touch of cardamom. It is a garlic‑forward mix with mild heat, and it adds depth without overpowering the dish. One benefit of using a blend like this is that I do not have to buy several individual spices from a Middle Eastern or South Asian store. Everything is already measured and mixed for convenience. The seasoning comes in a resealable package, the expiry date printed as February 13, 2028. Whenever I buy food items in resealable pouches, I recommend transferring them into a small Tupperware‑style container to make access easier and hopefully preserve freshness. The weight is 113 grams, and the good news is you do not need a lot to make a flavorful meal. A small amount goes a long way, especially for lamb, chicken, beef, vegetables, or grains. The label says it is from Turkey, which is good to know for authenticity. In my opinion, this is not only for shawarma but a general all‑purpose Middle Eastern spice mix that works across many dishes. Five stars definitely.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I think is a very nice tasting spice mix. A little goes a long way. I use anywhere from a small teaspoon, to a tablespoon for a larger amount (6 or more servings of rice and meat/veggies) and the taste is excellent. When first opening it, I thought from the scent that it had too much Cumin as that smell dominates. However once you start cooking the other flavors come out. The cinnamon is just right and not too much and the balance is really nice. I have been really enjoying this seasoning mix so far. Not too sweet , no one spice over powers another and not too hot and spicy like other brands of mix I’ve tried. I would definitely buy this brand again, it’s very good in my opinion! I don’t know how authentic tasting it is as I am not familiar with authentic Shawarma’s, but it certainly is good tasting!

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] The shawarma seasoning comes in a resealable plastic bag that holds a little over a hundred grams. The spice blend is a mixture of different ingredients such as garlic powder, cumin, paprika, sumac, ginger, cardamom, tumeric, and others. These ingredients have their own contributions whether it be for taste, texture, or colour. The seasoning is good as a spice rub for all types of meat including chicken, beef, or lamb. The seasoning is also vegan, gluten free, and halal so can be used to season vegetables as well. Simulating the taste of shwarma, the preparation is as easy as tossing and rubbing it into the source of food before putting it on the grill. The result is a charred yet flavourful taste of tangy, frangrant, spices that enhance the flavour of your meat and vegetables similar to what you would find at a Middle Eastern restaurant. The recommended ratio of one tablespoon to five hundred grams of meat works well but you can adjust and add more for an even deeper umami. Overall, the shawarma seasoning spice is super easy to use and yields a very tasty meal regardless of your dietary preferences.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I love shawarma, so I had to give this a try and I’m definitely not disappointed. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and almost half the bag is already gone. The flavor is really well balanced. You can taste all the different spices without one overpowering the others, and it has a nice authentic shawarma taste. The ingredients are all natural, which I appreciate.I usually use a little over a tablespoon along with some mustard, a small amount of mayo, and salt to marinate chicken for a few hours before cooking. It turns out incredibly juicy and flavorful every time. My wife and I have honestly been making it multiple times a week since we got it.The resealable bag keeps the seasoning fresh, and a little goes a long way so I think it will last quite a while despite how often we’ve been using it. I’ll definitely be buying another bag once this one is finished.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This seasoning has a nice balance of classic shawarma flavors without being overly spicy. The garlic is definitely the dominant note, but it’s backed up well by the smoky paprika, cumin, and a subtle tang from the sumac. I used it on chicken and beef, and it created a flavorful crust when cooked while still letting the meat itself come through. It also worked well mixed into a simple marinade with a little oil and lemon juice. The seasoning tastes fresh and doesn’t rely on a lot of salt to add flavor, which I liked. It’s mild enough that it’s easy to adjust if you want more heat, but as it is, it’s a good fit for wraps, grilled meats, or even roasted vegetables. The flavor is balanced and versatile, and it made homemade shawarma come out really well.Another great blend fro ma great brand. I would recommend it.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Enjoying this spice on many things. It’s a great seasoning for many traditional dishes im sure, as well as on a breaded and fried chicken breast or a baked chicken breast. It’s also great as a French fries seasoning and on a baked potato.I’m really enjoying it!

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Some of our favorite places to eat in our area are shawarma places. Not only is it fresh clean food but this taste is a different changed your regular pallet. When we found this we thought this would be great for quick meals when both my wife and I have to eat and get home quickly and feed kids. So far we’ve been very happy with the flavor and how quick and easy it is to use this. Having a resealable bag is also a huge perk as it helps the spices to stay fresh. This is really nice when you add it to ground beef and make meatballs or kabobs. We have also mixed it with mayo and lemon juice and a loud chicken to season in it. It is very flavorful and have found that we can put it on a number of things for simple meals that taste anything but.All in all, this has really added to our families meal repertoire. We found that it is well priced for what you get and to make your cooking experience easier, it is well worth the price.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] I made chicken shawarma with this seasoning and it turned out much better than I expected. The garlic comes through nicely without being overpowering, and the mix of smoked paprika, cumin, and sumac gives it that classic shawarma flavor with a subtle tang. It’s flavorful without being overly salty or spicy, so even the kids at the table had no problem enjoying it.I also tried sprinkling a little on roasted potatoes while the chicken was cooking, and they disappeared almost as fast as the wraps. It blends evenly and doesn’t leave any bitter aftertaste like some spice mixes I’ve tried before. If you enjoy Middle Eastern flavors but don’t want something with a lot of heat, this is a really nice seasoning to keep in the pantry. I’ll definitely be reaching for it again whenever shawarma is on the menu.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This shawarma seasoning delivers an authentic, mouthwatering Middle Eastern flavor profile that instantly elevates home-cooked chicken, which is mostly what I use it for. This carefully balanced blend features a robust foundation of earthy cumin, warm coriander, aromatic garlic, sweet paprika, and a subtle hint of cinnamon and cloves that mimics the traditional slow-roasted spit-fire taste. A simple dry rub ensures deep flavor penetration and a gorgeous, caramelized crust during grilling or pan-searing. It also works remarkably well as a finishing dust over warm flatbreads, roasted chickpeas, or crispy potato wedges. Overall, the seasoning is a stellar pantry staple that punches well above its weight, offering restaurant-quality depth, incredible versatility, and reliable consistency for anyone looking to recreate vibrant street-food flavors right in their own kitchen with minimal effort.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Perfect blend. We cook a lot in our house and have a large assortment of spices, but whenever I go to make middle Eastern food, I always seem to be missing one ingredient. As a result, I don’t know how many times I’ve said « It’s good, but it would have been perfect with _______ ». This has alllllllllllllll the ingredients to make a delicious middle Eastern meal, and I especially love the extra garlic-y taste. It’s not a huge pouch for the price, but you don’t need a lot of it, so it’s a decent value.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This is a really tasty shawarma blend with garlic coming through prominently, followed by the smoky paprika, cumin, and slight tanginess from the sumac. It has plenty of flavour without being particularly spicy. It works really well with chicken, but is versatile enough for beef or lamb too. I especially like it for quick weeknight meals since you can get that warm, savoury Middle Eastern-inspired flavour without measuring out several individual spices.Overall, a delicious and convenient seasoning blend with a great balance of smoky, garlicky, and tangy flavours.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Another delicious spice blend from Edi Gourmet!I am vegetarian and have used this blend to make marinades for tofu and tempeh with great success. It’s also been delicious as a general seasoning mixed into any dish to give it a warm, earthy taste. The cumin is not too strong and doesn’t overpower the balance, and it’s finely blended without any gritty stems or chunks.Edi Gourmet spices are always filled to the absolute top of the packet so you are definitely getting your money’s worth here, and they never clump together. Great product.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] This spice is nice tasting and has the exact flavor of shawarma that I would usually order since I’ve not been able to get the right mix of spices to replicate that distinct shawarma taste, until I found this spice mix. It’s fresh tasting and easy to scoop out of the pack and dissolve into my shawarma mix. The pack that it comes in, is resealable so the contents can be resealed to preserve freshness. Very tasty and easy to use for DIY shawarma that tastes original.

[Amazon Vine review, product received free] Top Notch spice blend. It seems like it was just made the day I opened it. It’s a little bit strong on the cinnamon side but it’s actually one of the most fantastic schwarma seasonings I’ve come across. Will definitely be buying more from this company
