Our Story
Edi Gourmet Spice is a Canadian spice brand, founded in 2020 in Quispamsis, New Brunswick. We source premium spices directly from where they are grown best, pack them in small batches, and sell them across Canada on edigourmetspice.com, Amazon.ca, and Walmart.ca.
Most spice brands compete on price. We started because too much of what sits on Canadian shelves is stale, generic, or mislabelled — a jar that promises more than it delivers.
Aleppo pepper that turned out to be plain crushed chili. Sumac that tasted like almost nothing. The distance between the label and what was actually in the jar was the whole opening.
So we built a brand around one standard: source it properly, keep it fresh, and call it by its right name — wherever in the world it comes from.
The Standard Behind the Brand
Edi Gourmet Spice was founded by İlker Dalgıç, and the brand runs on one rule: never put a spice in a pouch he would not cook with himself.
In practice that means sourcing directly instead of through middlemen, checking every spice against what it is actually supposed to be, and refusing to bulk anything out with fillers.
It is why the range is small and deliberate. It grows only when a new spice can clear the same bar — Turkish and Middle Eastern today, somewhere else tomorrow.
Sourced Honestly, Made to Taste Right
Good spice is not complicated — it is just uncommon. We source directly, pack in small batches, and keep the label honest. What is on the front of the pouch is what is inside it.
A small-batch spice brand
Edi Gourmet Spice is a small-batch brand — we pack in small runs instead of warehousing by the pallet, so what reaches your kitchen is fresher and traceable to a specific source, not blended from whatever was cheapest that month.
Honest sourcing, honest labels
An ethical spice brand, to us, starts with a label that tells the truth. We do not bulk our spices out with fillers, and we do not call a cheap chili “Aleppo” just because it is the semi-recognisable name.
True to every spice
We respect where a spice comes from and what it is meant to be. Aleppo pepper is Maras pepper. Baharat is a warm Middle Eastern blend, not a stand-in for allspice. Whatever origin we add next gets sourced and named with the same care.
No Fillers or Additives
Just pure spices — no fillers, no anti-caking agents.
Sourced Directly
Bought direct from origin, never through middlemen.
Resealable Pouches
Craft-paper pouches that keep every spoonful fresh.
Shipped Fresh Across Canada
Most Canadians cannot buy real sumac at the corner store. That is not a knock on the corner store — it is just not what it is for.
We ship across Canada for free on any order of two spices or more, sealed and resealable, so the spice you could never find locally arrives fresh at your door. Whether you are in a big city or a small town, the access problem is the same, and it is the one we set out to solve.
